Aqueduct The Cascadea

Description is a part of what was the old aqueduct of San Felipe of the Water, built with walls and quarry arcades and brick, by the middle of the XVIII century. This work was financed by Juan G. Márquez, Manuel Landeta, José Sánchez and Juan of Easter and Obrien.

In the neighborhood of Xochimilco, until arriving to the box of water, located in the corner of the Tall Carmen's temple, to some how many blocks to the north of the Historical Center of Oaxaca; in the box the sentence is still appreciated:

"End this work in the year of 1751". The Cascade or Pozas Arcas are one of the places but showy of the aqueduct, due to their height and their arches that cross the old river of Jalatlaco that a long time ago, it still formed a series of puddles and a beautiful cascade, reasons that gave their denomination.

At the moment, this tract was rescued by the city council of the city who restored it, and in its environment I believe a pleasant recreational park.

The best visual point for the view of this historical monument is the street José López Alavez, it leaves high of the neighborhood of Xochimilco.

Localization is located to the North of the central square (Baseboard) of the capital city.

To arrive to him, take the street of Frizzy located 4 blocks to the West of the Boulevard of León until connecting with the wearing shoes Children Heroes of Chapultepec, after turn by hand right and at once by hand left on the street of Venus.

To four blocks to bend right by hand in Río Amazons' street which ends directly toward the Aqueduct the Cascade.
